Software QA Tester (Temporary) — Edmonton, AB, Canada
Company Overview:

Position Overview:
Do you enjoy working with a Scrum team to improve the quality of software releases? Are you in your element collaborating with developers and technical writers? This is an opportunity to use your experience to maintain and improve the quality of PSCL’s best-in-class software products.
We have an immediate opening for an experienced Software QA Tester to join our team in our Edmonton office for a 6-Month Temporary position.
The Software QA Tester contributes to the success of the company working with business units to conduct effective and efficient testing on PSCL software and constantly examining the quality and user experience. The Software QA Tester continuously improves the testing process.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the scope of projects and work with developers and project support teams
- Identify business requirements and product planning
- Perform stress, performance, functional and scalability testing
- Write and execute test scripts
- Run manual and automated tests
- Test in different environments including web and mobile
- Write bug reports
- Provide objective feedback to the development team
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in software testing
- Post-secondary education in a computer based program is an asset
- 2+ years’ experience in software testing
- 2+ years’ experience working in a Scrum team
- 1+ years’ preparing Automated tests
- A degree or diploma in Software Testing, Computer Science, or another relevant discipline
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail
- To be a strong collaborator, willing to work with various teams bringing suggestions and working towards strategic goals
- Experience developing automated testing for desktop and web environments
- Understanding of networking and database support
- Must be well organized
- Experience with end-user support and testing
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs for – Word processing, Databases, Spreadsheets, Email, Internet
Working Conditions:
- Work in an office environment
- Usually work a standard 40 hour work week
Physical requirements:
- Sedentary office Work
